I really only loved Season 1. Didn’t love season 2 and while I don’t care that the actor that plays Anthony is gay in real life he must have been uncomfortable with all of the Season 1 and 2 sex scenes. I understand they are choreographed.

Poor casting season 3. I don’t feel any chemistry at all. Also I don’t like the casting for Dowager Violet Bridgerton potential love interest. He’s not handsome enough - no chemistry.

Tom Brokaw called then "The Greatest Generation." In so many ways, that was true. They just grew up in a different time, with different values of what it meant to be a man, an American. I had a very close friend, that I knew was a WW II vet. He really hated talking about his time overseas. He told me once that he joined up at 16, but had to lie about his age because his parents wouldn't sign the enlistment papers. He told me that he had been in Italy and other places, but he left it at that. We never talked about it again, and I never pressed, even though I would have liked to know more, because I knew he didn't want to talk about it. When he passed away, his funeral service was at the VA cemetery here, and during the ceremony they listed his name, rank, and his decorations. I found out then that he had been awarded the Bronze Star. He was a very kind man, he would have given you the shirt off his back if you needed it, and he raised three fine sons. I'm proud to say that he was my friend, but not for long enough. RIP, Stu.

To be fair to the series' production and the writers, the Polin relationship in the Briggerton universe which is explored in "Romancing Mr Bridgerton" is a massive deal in the series and a major turning point in the lady whistledown plotline. The book has so many details and plot points that are really hard to cut out because if they did, A. the fans would be mad, B. if they were left out, it wouldn't make sense in the main plotline, and C. it would be hard to drive later dynamics and plotlines in the future. Though if we look at the series as a whole we see those interactions throughout the whole series. but yes if you only watch season 3 part one on its own it wont make sense and you will not understand how their relationship got here

There are a couple things I think you missed in regards to the last scene with Yabushige. Toranaga says to him “why tell the future to dead man?” Which is a line Yabushige himself used in the first episode when referring to Toranaga. This means one of his spies was either Omi or the scribe. This fortifies the idea that Yabushige was his pawn the whole time. Also when Nagakado dies, Yabushige mentions he would rate his death just above “being eaten by dogs” which implies that he felt he deserved a dishonorable death because of his betrayal.

I loved this season. I think the gap was rough for them but otherwise, it was one of my favorites. I can't believe Roanoke did better than this season. I thought Roanoke was the absolute worst.

Band of Brothers covered one Unit from D-day to the end of the war, which was about a year. The Pacific spans the entire year, multiple cast members over many locations. You have Leckie in the hospital, Basilone in DC then to San Diego and then back to the Pacific. I think the Pacific tried to do to much.

I don't think it's about time spent because Francesca and John had a much sweeter story and I cared more about them than Colin and Penelope, a pair we have known since S1. They hyped them up so much during promotion but the actual scenes fell flat. They didn't pick the right moments to let their chemistry breathe. Also, they really should've left out mondrich and Violet side stories for another season because I really wanted to see more of Francesca and John, because their story had so much heart

I just finished watching all three episodes. Honestly, I'm a little sick of why Jason didn't tell from the beginning the part where he was kidnapped by someone with a mask and got injected. Even though he already realized that he hypothesized what if the one who kidnapped him was another version of himself. why didn't he explain that when he was interviewed again after he was arrested? that's really annoying

There is something else that felt off right at the beginning, which is that every character seemed to be un-motivated. The queen was bored and un-invested, the mother bridgerton seemed exhausted from the start to have to deal with two daughters and felt tired in every conversation, Eloise lost her temper and felt flat even though I know it was a wanted change. Even Benedict looks forced to be in every scene and gives annoyed vibes, and his "love story" is coming out of the blue and is quite un interesting. I think the Bridgerton series thrives with the dynamism and the excitment of the story and the characters, and starting with already un-involved characters does not feels as stimulating as before. But I think it improved after the first two episodes and was still enjoyable

Honestly, I couldn't care less for Colin and Penelope, don't like both of them. I only watch this for Francesca's storyline

I guess you forgot 2 previous seasons of Bridgerton where Colin and Pen had already a lot of moments together and have a backstory. But it’s easy to forget because we have been concentrating more on other couples. When you rewatch the hole series before season 3, it all makes perfect sense

Colin and Penelope have known each other their entire lives. There's no point in him waiting as soon as he knows how he feels about her. Colin was very obviously putting on a character when he was raking about like every other man. Colin feels off because of that & because Pen is putting herself out there. Everybody in this season is anxious & a wallflower. Pen only got what she wanted once she asked for it.

There was a pacing issue, and the amount of subplots were absolutely ridiculous. Will and Alice overstayed their welcome as their story has no effect on the plot, and the Featherington sister's pregnancy dilemma both come to mind. The main storyline was severely underdeveloped and felt even more so with everything crammed into four episodes.

Am I watching the same show as the rest of y'all? I loved the first four seasons. I have never identified so much with a character as I do with Penelope this season. I cried a lot through these first four episodes. This is the best season yet!

Great show, but in my opinion, German short series "Generation War" was better

Wonderful review! I still don't quite know how to read Adam at the end, though. Is he also a ghost? I ask because there he is with Harry and they are together a star in the night sky, which is profoundly beautiful, but leaves me wondering. Not that I need a tidy answer for everything, but this truly haunted me...

In my opinion it's a bad movie

Okay I'm agree in part but the thing that i always keep hearing and reading is that there was no chemistry with Pen and Colin but there is. Their does unknown glance that we so love in one and two and so on. For me it felt rush because its to much characters and stories being shown and told and the focus of the main season couple is shorten I will be honest that took it away. Also in my part i was entertained watching season 1 and 2 because i never read the books but this time I actually read Penelope and colin story and i loved it but for some reason my expectations were to big that it made the show feel so rushed. (Thats my fault). I end up liking more the stories of the characters i don't know much.

A 2nd season would certainly be low quality and stupid. I hope they leave it alone.

I didn't see the series as I didn't have a subscription, alas. Just the few clips on YT. What I did see from those clips, I liked as it was convoluted. Even the background was complex. I gathered that most of the various doings took place in US states like Texas or New Mexico, or maybe Arizona? A lot of back and forth over the US - Mexico common border. Aren't there a number of US American Indian Reservations in those various states? I ask this is because, legally, as those bits of land, while apart of the US are not a part of the states in which they reside, in many ways. There's been more than one governor of the various northern plain's states that have complained about this and has also complained about the illegal drug trade that stems or comes from, it is in fact all very political and complex, and keeps a lot of lawyers employed I am sure, American Indian Reservations. At a guess, this behavior within these Reservations would attract the official attention of the FBI? Complex indeed, with in plot lines and perhaps within real life. From the clips, I don't recall that that Saul didn't directly address the Reservation point of view.

With that said, I was quite disappointed that you weren't able to talk about the Penkala and Muck scene. Those two supporting characters were one of the shows, saddest deaths

No way they do this then they destroy there love story.. I believe that Lady Danbury will end up being the one to help them..if you know you know... Pen is marrying Violet's child her dear friend and she's a major confidant of the Queen.. it will work out in the end she made mistakes but the Ton was horrible to her even her own family .. Pen is flawed but wonderful person.

While being on limiters and still making it to 5th is impressive. Reminds me of the Rock Lee vs Garda battle and he removes his legs weights.

here is my take: I think .. if i am being HONEST... it was a tough sell to have Penelope be the MAIN this season. this is a show that relies heavily on hot scenes and chemistry. To choose a character that was kind of a villain AND always the one who isn't seen as attractive to the world she is in - with all th!nner girls being chosen over her.. hence her jealousy .. - as an audience you can chose for yourself if you find penelope attractive, but to chose her as the main person we are now going to focus on after everything was building that she is the snake among everyone, that was bound to be a bit divisive. for me, i don't really want to see her get al hot and steamy with someone. it just doesn't sell to me. and i know i might get booed for saying that.... But i am being honest here. on top of that you have a VERY rushed romance with a bunch of side stories - probably BECAUSE they knew the penelope love story wasn't that interesting maybe? OR because .. i think they are leaning towards her downfall in part 2. the truth about her will come out after he already chose her - maybe even married her. it will feel like a huge betrayel - cause lady whistleton /whistledown was someone he wants to ruin! so how else is it going to end? i suppose he will forgive and forget in the end but maybe this season won't have a happy ending....
